Access Control — common questions
What does access control actually do?
It decides who can open which door, when. Fobs, cards, codes or apps replace keys, and access can be granted, restricted by time or area, and withdrawn instantly when someone leaves.
What happens when a fob is lost?
You disable it. That is the main practical advantage over keys — a lost fob is a two-minute administrative job rather than a lock change.
Can it be fitted to existing doors?
Usually, though it depends on the door and frame. Fire doors in particular have requirements that constrain what can be fitted, and we assess that on site.
Does it work with CCTV?
Yes, and the combination is genuinely useful: access control records who was granted entry and CCTV records who actually came through the door. They answer different halves of the same question.
